Job: Maintenance Team Lead
Shift: Days
Location: Royal Canin (North Sioux City, SD)
The Maintenance Team Leader (MTL) has the responsibility and accountability to ensure effective and efficient workflows of the assigned Maintenance Team to support optimal availability of production and utility facilities. This role organizes and leads resources so that preventative and corrective plant maintenance is delivered with safety and quality front of mind.
Education & Professional Qualification
- Technical University degree (preferred but not essential) or technical qualification
Knowledge/Experience
- Experience of line management in a manufacturing environment (preferred but not essential)
- Solid understanding of & exposure to Engineering Technology (e.g. mechanical, electrotechnical area)
- Knowledge of any CMMS (eMaint is preferred)
- Significant work experience in technical fields
What will be your key responsibilities?
Functional Leadership:
- Lead maintenance technicians to implement planned preventative maintenance plans to maximize factory performance and output.
- Lead corrective maintenance activities to resolve high priority factory issues through the technician community.
- Coordinate resources and activities of assigned maintenance team and ensure reviews on efficiency and standards.
- Responsible for making factory-wide decisions where necessary, guiding other Team Leaders and factory associates on resolving deviations to KPIs.
- Lead factory-wide projects to drive priority initiatives.
People Leadership:
- Line management for a team of maintenance associates; planning work and managing crewing levels, conducting training, and ensuring that all attendance, performance and disciplinary matters are dealt with in accordance with company procedures.
- Building a high-performing team through developing associates individually and within the team. Driving the engagement of associates through coaching and impact planning. Developing associates through effective personal development plan management to ensure functional, team and personal development.
- Provide clear communication to the team on initiatives within the factory, as well as the wider business.
- Role model the factory operational processes, leading functional meetings and supporting operations in root cause analyses through effective coaching.
Strategical Maintenance:
- As a member of the Site Technical Leadership team, the MTL will help shape the maintenance strategy and drive the capabilities and performance of all team members forward.
- Collaborating with Site Technical Leadership Team peers to lead and partner in maintenance technical strategy, asset performance improvement and asset investment.
