Pet Caretaker
Lewisburg, Ohio
As Pet Caretakerat Mars, you will work in a team environment to provide daily care and management for the pets.
This is a Monday - Friday 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM shift. With weekend rotation every 3rd month including holidays.
What are we looking for?
Minimum high school diploma or GED
Minimum 1-3 years experience interacting with dogs and cats
Experience with quality assurance
Experience with basic grooming and training is preferred
Experience working in an animal facility or animal hospital is preferred
Knowledge in animal facility operations
Knowledge of animal health and management issues
Ability to lift ~50lbs, required to work in all weather conditions, work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
What will be your key responsibilities?
Complete daily cleaning for primary and secondary housing areas within the PHNC in accordance with SOPs, Animal Welfare Act, and Mars Standards.
Implement environmental enrichment, exercise, socialization and grooming programs in accordance with standard operating procedures.
Evaluate pet health (both mental and physical) for any veterinary and/or enrichment needs. Assisting the Health Care Team in treatment and research collections as needed.
Perform animal behavior and obedience training following the Mars Standards. This includes implementing behavior modification plans, training for research activities, and support for rehoming.

Responsible for following the Mars Safety (HSE) and Quality Management Systems (QMS).
