Senior Operator – Royal Canin Manufacturing (Fremont, NE)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 06:00–14:30

Position Overview

Royal Canin Fremont is seeking a dedicated Senior Operator to lead sanitation and production operations, ensuring the highest standards of food safety, quality, and team performance. This role is ideal for candidates with a strong background in food manufacturing who are passionate about driving operational excellence and supporting associate development.

Key Responsibilities

Sanitation Leadership:

  • Guide and monitor weekly Master Sanitation Schedule activities.
  • Lead sanitation and hypoallergenic cleaning tasks, ensuring timely completion and compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Develop weekly crewing plans and allocate tasks to sanitation team members.
  • Ensure QSSM compliance and coordinate amendments in collaboration with R&D.

Operational Excellence:

  • Maintain operational standards and drive daily site sanitation operations.
  • Make quality and process decisions to ensure products meet Brand specifications.
  • Support and coach up to 20 associates and contractors per shift.
  • Fill in for line manager as needed and provide leadership across multiple process areas.

Safety & Compliance:

  • Enforce use of personal protective equipment and compliance with RC and legal requirements.
  • Ensure adherence to security, environmental, and fire protection policies.
  • Support implementation and improvement of quality management systems (ISO 9001, ISO 22000, Mars Standards).
  • Ensure compliance with CCPs and oPRPs; manage non-conformities and corrective actions.

Quality & Continuous Improvement:

  • Perform standard quality checks and other quality-related duties.
  • Maintain accurate records for audits and inspections.
  • Analyze and resolve root causes of issues, ensuring quality is prioritized in decision-making.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1–3 years’ experience in food manufacturing.
  • Flexible to work shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and ability to create a safe work environment.
  • Experience with equipment operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Proficient in basic desktop computer systems and inventory control principles.
  • Forklift operation experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of production schedules, plant products, and Mars systems.
