The Health Affairs Manager is responsible for effectively implementing and continuously improving the scientific communication and engagement activities in their respective cluster.
The jobholder is responsible of sharing knowledge about clinical nutrition both in written form and orally to varying audiences both internally and externally, to support Royal Canin activation plans across all channels of the business.
The jobholder nurtures powerful relationships with important stakeholders through consulting and active collaboration.
The Health Affairs Manager acts as an internal scientific advisor, delivering internal training and education, and ensuring a robust technical and scientific knowledge base across teams and functions, particularly customer-facing roles.
What are we looking for?
ESSENTIAL:
- DVM degree, or an equivalent Graduate University Degree in Animal Biology, Food Science Engineering, Food Safety or Human Nutrition
- Very good knowledge of canine and feline nutrition, particularly in a veterinary clinical context
- Very good presentation and communication skills, particularly to a scientific audience
- Fluent In English, native level proficiency in Finnish
HIGHLY PREFERRED:
- Extensive computer skills with Microsoft Office proficiency
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Experience in scientific stakeholders' management
- Experience in scientific communication, veterinary professional training, or equivalent, considered as an asset
What will be your key responsibilities?
Deliver internally and externally Scientific education in the cluster:
- Implement as part of the Cluster Health Affairs team the development of all scientific communication materials and trainings for the Associates
- Provide the necessary technical/ product support by adapting and producing content and materials on the respective platforms, provide trainings for external stakeholders (consumers, veterinarians, veterinary technicians/nurses, students, breeders)
- Provide technical/product support to key areas of the business in particular customer-facing teams (field sales, Consumer Care), Demand teams, and other functions ad hoc
- Build and leverage Royal Canin Academy plan for the cluster to drive product recommendations
Collaborate with the internal stakeholders:
- Implement the Scientific Communications Activation Programs in alignment with Demand teams for Executional Excellence
- Participate actively to the European regional Health affairs community, sharing best practices and learning new capabilities
- Support our Consumer Care associates in answering complex questions and enquiries in order to drive pet owners’ experience
- Review scientific communication material as needed for marketing and digital communication
Secure Scientific review, validation and Approval of Contents:
- In line with the agreed Contents Operating Model, endorse the responsibility of the content verification process user for agreed set of materials
- Validate the market assets in line with the process and check their level of substantiation, tone of voice and scientific relevance
- More particularly check accuracy, the associated substantiation level, and level of risk, in accordance with our Corporate, Branding and Editorial guidelines
Enhance Scientific Influence and Product experience externally:
- Contribute to the ad hoc implementation, review, and communications of product field trials so that scientific impact is maximized (when applicable)
- Ensure high level of academic excellence by delivering scientific and nutrition presentations at vet schools- vet universities, and conferences in various formats in clinical nutrition towards all our relevant stakeholders
- Represent Royal Canin at local conferences/exhibitions, scientific spokesperson with specific media, when necessary
- Contribute to the implementation of the strategy to manage Key Opinion Leaders and Key influencer relationships, processes, resources to drive our category
- Deliver agreed initiatives increasing the reach of our messaging vis a vis KOLs such as Specialists, Veterinary School/University Academic leaders, Influential veterinary professional associations and scientific societies/groups
- Provide delivery of technical /scientific articles for trade magazines/ vet media in coordination with the Demand teams
- Where agreed, represent scientific interests of Royal Canin to industry groups and trade associations where appropriate in collaboration with Regulatory Affairs, Public Affairs and in coordination with the Corporate Affairs Director
