Key Responsibilities
MANAGEMENT & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage team of Lab technicians
- Responsible for compliance with Mars Global Laboratory Standard and local requirements
- Respect the operating budget
- Coordinate Ring testing and Proficiency Test
- Coordinate RM and finished product quality control programs
- Responsible for the equipment (in lab and in the extrusion area) maintenance and calibration
- Responsible for lab consumable and service supplies
- Organize and train lab technicians
- Responsible for chemical waste management
- Responsible for maintaining a safe environment
- Responsible for control of chemicals
- Responsible for performing analysis
- Communicate with regional/central lab and external lab
- Coordinate the shipment of samples (internal/external)
- Service internal and external clients
- Responsible for retention samples
- Coordinate the OOS, NC and complaint investigation
- Responsible for product release
- Responsible for lab system management
- Manage continuous improvement in the laboratory
- Updating management on Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
- As required, guarantee quality tests on incoming raw materials as specified in reception procedure
- Quality control procedures (perform and record)
- Sampling of products to ensure quality control
SAFETY
- All PPE must be worn in compliance with the Legal/RC requirements
- Enforce/Respect the safety rules and the internal policy
- Stop any equipment / operative works / external company works if safety/environment protection/fire protection rules are broken
- Guarantee and apply ISO 45001 and all related working procedures
ENVIRONMENT
- Guarantee and apply ISO 14001 (Environment), and all related working procedures
- Ownership of environmental responsibilities
QUALITY & FOODSAFETY
- Guarantee and apply ISO 9001, 22000, FSSC 22000, Mars Standards, and all related working procedures
- Support the HACCP program in the department
- Lead GMP-GHP in the area, 5S
- Inform Q&FS manager of quality deviations according to product standards and production procedures
- Perform the oPRP’s procedure according to SOPs
- Validate all analysis results
- Responsible for auto control analysis
- Coordinate the daily morning panel
- Collect Q&FS KPIs as for input to periodically management review;
- Any task as delegated by Manager
HUMAN RESOURCES
- Training: attend any training program as scheduled by company management and train any designed person in the position
CLEANLINESS & TIDINESS
- Ensure proper housekeeping is done on a daily basis in the lab and sample rooms
- Perform 5S audits
COMMUNICATION & INFORMATION
- Provide any requested documentation to other Departments according to internal rules
- Communicate to all departments about rejected RM’s or RM’s placed on QA Hold
- Update KPIs
Job Specifications/Qualifications
Education & Professional Qualifications
- Higher education in food science, chemistry, laboratory, or similar fields is mandatory
- Previous experience in a food / feed plant laboratory preferred
- Have the health certificate within the validity period
Knowledge / Experience
- Experience in HPLC, GC and NIR is preferred
- Good communication skills to liaise internally and externally, as well as to assist in motivating, training, and improving the lab team
- Sensitivity to the quality and food safety incidents
- Be Familiar with quality tools regarding root cause analysis, smart decision making, risk assessment and etec.
- Good computer skills, include office and other data analysis software.
- self-motivated, initiative, team player, odor sensitive and texture perception, depth perception, safety & hygiene & quality conscious
- Fluent English speaking and writing.
