JR Smith North Sioux City Site Director, Global Value Chain Operations

The inventory coordinator is responsible for the accuracy of the site’s inventory.  This position will be the key user for ERP and own the first level of support for data and inventory control.  Additional inventory control responsibilities will include monitoring process conformance, reporting process issues, and training end users for the site. Additionally, this position will own management of cycle count adjustments, year-end inventory and ensuring proper inventory accuracy business processes are being followed.  This is a critical role in the factory by ensuring raw material, packaging & consumables availability for a complex portfolio of diets for the Operations Team to produce each day.

What are we looking for?

Minimum qualifications:

  • 1+ years' experience in production planning, operations planning and/or inventory management.

  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent.

  • Fully functional in Microsoft Office suite at an advanced level.

  • Ability to be on call after hours where appropriate for crisis management.

  • Experience in ERP management.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration or post-secondary education in a related field.

  • Experience in leading others.

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Collaborate with stakeholders and operators to improve the performance of the factory.

  • WMS/ERP data accuracy, integrity and projects.

  • Full ownership of inventory for the site, 3PL site and continuous improvement of processes.

  • Process of managing inventory of raw ingredients/packaging materials/kibble/finished products in bins, silos and racks (cyclical and period end inventories) in accordance with governance standards.

  • Physical inventory management/organization for both plant warehouses and 3PL.

  • Create and maintain KPIs related to site inventory-utilize to improve efficiencies.

  • Ensure financial expenses with suppliers are fulfilled according to contracts and MARS policies.

  • Record or perform updates into Navision or any other allocated software according to internal rules & traceability requirements: Production needs, Inventory extractions & corrections as required.
