Cluster West Europe – Responsible for BeLux, Netherlands, Austria, Germany, and Switzerland
Are you passionate about numbers, processes, and leading a team? Then you’ll thrive in this role!
As the Teamlead for Accounts Payable, you will lead a dedicated team of six AP Specialists and oversee operational accounting within our West Europe Cluster. In addition to daily operations, you will work closely with our Cluster Financial Controller, optimize processes, and actively shape collaboration across various departments – from Demand to Supply.
What would be your key responsibilities?
You lead your team in the day-to-day accounts payable operations and support your associates on key business challenges, decision-making and critical thinking to secure business continuity
You are a Great Line Manager for your team, fostering team engagement and personal development, driving the Associate concept and operating in line with the 5 Principles. You recruit and onboard new associates into the team when required.
You design and track relevant KPIs for your team, drive continuous improvement and analyze and report business results in your area
You ensure consistent compliance with the Mars Finance Manual guidelines and are responsible for the ICE Framework (Internal Controls Excellence) in your area
You are responsible for balance sheet account reconciliations (including Blackline) and lead period-end closings
You manage the Invoice-to-Pay process and take the lead in projects to drive efficiency and automation
You act as a key user for our ERP system (1Navision) in the P2P area
You collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and provide guidance to the organization on financial and process-related matters
You are an important member of the Financial Controllership team, able to think broadly and drive collaboration of your team with the wider team (Accounts Receivable, General Accounting, Governance & Control, Payroll etc). You are able to take on Finance projects beyond the AP scope.
What are we looking for?
A university degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance
Relevant professional experience in finance and accounting
Ideally, a CIMA or ACCA certification (a plus, but not mandatory)
Demonstrated affinity with and motivation for people leadership
Solid accounting knowledge and a strong command of accounting standards
Excellent command of English – at least one additional language from the cluster (e.g., German, French or Dutch) are a major plus
