The Ecommerce Sales Director is accountable for leading the Ecommerce Sales team to effectively execute against the Portfolio objectives/KPIs.  This is achieved through strong leadership, team development, customer and cross functional collaboration.  This role should have working knowledge of digital commerce and using market insights and digital activation techniques to drive growth.  This role will report into the Healthy Pet General Manager with a dotted line to the Vet General Manager. 

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Responsible for delivering annual business targets.  This includes development and execution of sales plans to deliver business objectives and performance metrics.
  • Optimize strategies and activation plans by analyzing and leveraging customer specific data.  Monitors results and makes adjustments as required to deliver the business commitments. 
  • Builds an effective team through an open and inclusive environment that fosters diverse perspectives, collaboration, engagement, and development.
  • Drive the development of a strong and effective culture consistent with Royal Canin and the 5 Principles of Mars, Inc.  Build the capability of the team to deliver the strategy through identifying development needs, bringing on board new resources as needed and ensuring a “high performance team.  
  • Ensures the financial targets and sales budgets associated with assigned areas of responsibility are achieved.
  • Will provide guidance/leadership for Ecommerce Shopper Marketing team to help develop shopper marketing programs, new product launches and lead post marketing activity/event analysis for the Royal Canin and Eukanuba brands.
  • Will partner closely with the Dcommerce COA Team on the Ecommerce capabilities to drive subscription, PDS, and Search strategies to deliver against the OGSM.
  • Continuous improvement - Innovative thinking to help drive efficiencies of BU P&L.
  • Establishes clear responsibilities, processes, and ways of working within team to monitor work and measure KPIs.
  • Anticipates and balances the needs and interests of multiple internal and external stakeholders (Supply, Marketing/Market Intelligence, Finance, Demand Planning, Analytics, and Ecommerce Leadership).  Builds partnerships and works collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.
  • Can decide and act without all the information and in a constantly changing environment.  Can effectively lead the team through the uncertainty of change.
  • Negotiate a mutual plan towards driving sustainable growth with Ecommerce retailers.
  • Build rapport and partner with Ecommerce leaders in other Mars’ segments and Royal Canin global for best practices
  • Strong leadership across both the Healthy Pet and Vet Leadership teams

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent
  • 8+ years of experience in business management in consumer industry leading sales and marketing functions. 3+ years of people management experience
  • Sales management experience with ecommerce (pureplay preferred) with track record of growing and developing this channel.
  • Experience in strategy development and customer negotiation.
  • Proven leadership skills and experience of leading, engaging and developing diverse, cross-functional and high-performance teams.
  • Strong ability to influence and engage key stakeholders, encourage teamwork and build strong internal and external relationships.
  • Ability to travel 30-40%.
