Royal Canin’s ambition is simple: deliver the most precise nutritional solutions to support every cat and dog’s health. To accelerate innovation and strengthen our leadership in veterinary nutrition, we are looking for a Global Veterinary Portfolio Lead. In this role, you will shape and drive our global portfolio strategy for the Veterinary (VET) range, ensuring that our offer continues to meet the evolving needs of pets, veterinary professionals, and markets worldwide. You will act as the business owner of the VET portfolio: overseeing its performance, analyzing market and regional insights, partnering closely with key markets, and working hand-in-hand with our Global Innovation team to guide future developments.

What are we looking for?

  • You ideally come from a recommendation-driven model, the veterinary field, or the pharmaceutical industry (a veterinary background is a plus).

  • You have proven experience in portfolio management and in driving cross-functional initiatives internationally.

  • You bring a strong strategic mindset and the ability to shape and execute a long-term portfolio vision.

  • You excel at collaborating with diverse teams (including R&D, Sales, Marketing, and global/regional partners) and influencing in complex, matrixed environments.

  • You demonstrate solid business acumen and a deep understanding of customer and veterinary needs.

  • You are comfortable navigating ambiguity and making clear decisions in fast-moving contexts.

  • You show strong energy, ownership and leadership, with the ability to build momentum across global communities.

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Define and lead the global portfolio strategy for the Veterinary (VET) range, ensuring the brand focuses on the right health territories and delivers a consistent, relevant offer across markets.

  • Build and maintain a strong portfolio foundation through in-depth business analysis, covering performance, market coverage, innovation rollout and core product results.

  • Drive the global VET portfolio performance and reporting, developing dashboards and portfolio tools in partnership with brand and regional teams.

  • Establish clear portfolio guidelines, including core products that must be available in every market and recommended pack formats, and track their deployment worldwide.

  • Collect and consolidate customer pain points, product gaps, market insights and opportunities with regions to inspire innovation and shape a holistic portfolio (products, services, knowledge).

  • Serve as the primary contact for regional and key market teams on all portfolio topics, ensuring their needs and insights directly influence the global innovation roadmap.

  • Represent the VET portfolio in global governance forums, ensuring the innovation pipeline is fuelled with the right renovation and innovation priorities.

What can you expect from Mars?

  • At Mars, we believe in a relationship of mutual trust, dignity and respect between our company and Associates that is more meaningful than the standard employer/employee relationship.

  • As Associates, we can expect to be respected, supported and valued as individuals, to be treated fairly and equitably.

  • You will work in a multicultural environment (more than 40 nationalities) and where your dog will be welcomed by more than 100 other Associates’ dogs at the office!

  • You will work in a unique campus, which gathers more than 800 Associates working for: the international HQ, the French subsidiary, two laboratories, a kennel and a cattery with more than 200 cats & dogs, and finally the most important factory of the Royal Canin group

  • Since 2017, Royal Canin has supported the K-DOG program of the Curie Institute, which trains dogs to detect breast cancer via olfaction

  • A unique and ideal work environment to become the leader in health through nutrition for cats and dogs!
