There is an exciting opportunity to join the site R&D team in [RGY] within the Quality & Food Safety function as the Q&FS Specialist.
Quality system at RGY plays a critical role in ensuring that all products meet Mars’ stringent quality and food safety standards. This role supports site leadership and governance to maintain compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and global Q&FS frameworks, contributing to the delivery of safe, high-quality pet nutrition products.
What are we looking for?
Food Science, Engineering, Chemistry or equivalent BSc/MSc degree is preferred Experience in a Food Manufacturing environment working in Quality, Food Safety, Engineering or Product/Process development Knowledge of Quality Assurance & Hygiene programs such as HACCP/GFSI/FSSC 22000 Experience with incident management and standards implementation and completing internal and external audits
What will be your key responsibilities?
1. Quality & Food Safety Governance
Act as a key representative for Q&FS on behalf of Royal Canin at the manufacturing site.
Ensure compliance with Mars Q&FS policies, including FMMS (Foreign material management system), HRCI (High risk of chemical ingredient), Hygienic design, and HACCP.
Support internal and external audits, including FSSC22000 certification and regulatory inspections.
Collaborate with APAC Q&FS team to align site practices with regional and global standards.
2. Risk Management and Continuous Improvement
Identify, assess, and mitigate quality and food safety risks proactively.
Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality incidents or non-conformances.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
3. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with operation, supply chain, R&D, and other functions to embed Q&FS principles into daily operations.
Facilitate training and awareness programs to promote a culture of quality and food safety.
Support new product introductions and process changes from a Q&FS perspective.
4. Data Analysis and Reporting
Monitor key quality and food safety metrics, analyze trends, and report findings to site leadership and APAC Q&FS.
Utilize structured data tools (e.g., Excel, CSV) to generate actionable insights.
Support documentation and record-keeping to ensure traceability and compliance.
5. Compliance and Policy Enforcement
Ensure adherence to Mars Responsible AI policies when applicable in Q&FS data and reporting.
Maintain data privacy and confidentiality in line with Mars data protection standards.
Participate in the development and refinement of Q&FS policies and procedures.
