The purpose of this position is to lead the Canadian shared logistics services team; with the responsibility for the creation and management of strategic partnership with key vendors, the design and implementation of logistic operating model that support our fast-growing business and strategies. The role will be responsible for managing processes, metrics, reporting, and demands a high focus and concentration on continuous improvement projects supporting the overall strategy.
This role will play a key role in ensuring that the requirements and business processes associated with the 3PL provider and vendors function smoothly, while also ensuring that issues and risks are identified and managed efficiently. Will play a leading role with inventory governance, management, reconciliation, and root cause analysis. Facilitating and support cross-functional operations, project support and sharing of best practices with multiple supply chain teams across both the region and market operations.
What are we looking for?
- Bachelor’s degree in related field required
- CSCP Certification or comparable
- Six Sigma / Lean Black Belt Certification preferred
- Line management experience required
- Over 5 years’ experience in Logistics, Distribution Operations to include negotiations of freight transportation contracts.
- Strong analytical skills, problem resolution, math and statistical knowledge
- PC literate with good skills in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Ability to formulate and implement improvement strategies
What will be your key responsibilities?
- Oversee strategic and operational aspect of logistics providers with an emphasis on delivery service, inventory asset management, and product flow velocity.
- Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with key logistics vendor to drive market leading service levels, logistics agility and special services required by our market.
- Develop, design, and implement new capabilities in the logistics team to support the changing route to market and to support our business growth.
- Distribution & Warehouse and Transportation Service Provider Performance Evaluation and Action through formal Scorecard process. Proactively address and solving customer impacting delivery issues.
- Develop, manage, and execute all service provider contracting, coordinating with key stakeholders and legal.
- Key subject matter expert contact for our distributors and the Market Distribution Centres
- regarding product traceability and industry standard for product handling & facility storage
- Manage the budget associated with the logistics operations.
- Identify, justify and implement Continuous Improvement opportunities in all areas of logistics processes; further develop procedures, programs and communication.
- Identify and implement key projects that drive improvement against key supply chain measures, including LCC and OTIF
- Adhere to applicable Quality and Food Safety Policies and Quality Management System requirements to ensure compliance to MARS standards.
- Lead a team of analysts, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment while driving associate engagement, performance, and development.
