The Royal Canin Regulatory Affairs function is pivotal in ensuring our health-through-nutrition solutions are accessible worldwide. We achieve this by embedding compliance into innovation from the outset, maintaining ongoing product conformity, advocating for science-based regulatory frameworks, and safeguarding the reputation of Royal Canin and its customers.

As the Global Innovation Regulatory Compliance Senior Manager, you will serve as the primary Regulatory Affairs representative within global innovation projects. You will proactively collaborate with regional Regulatory teams to anticipate and integrate regulatory requirements and market access conditions during the early design phase of new products and solutions. By staying ahead of regulatory trends and policy developments, you will ensure that innovation pipelines remain compliant and future-ready.

This role is a key partner to R&D, Demand, and Commercial teams, ensuring that innovation at Royal Canin is not only pioneering but also compliant, sustainable, and trusted by customers and regulators worldwide.

What are we looking for?

  • M.S. or equivalent in life sciences.

  • Qualification in Project Management is a plus.

  • 8+ years of professional experience, including minimum 3 years in Regulatory Affairs (or on projects with hands-on experience collaborating with Regulatory) in the life-sciences Industry. ·

  • Excellent communication skills, fluent in English is mandatory

What would be your key responsibilities?

Strategic Regulatory Leadership:

Act as the regulatory lead for innovation projects, ensuring that all new product concepts and developments are designed with compliance at their core, enabling seamless global market access. Participate In the co-creation of Innovations, offering options to maximize opportunities to differentiate Royal Canin products while ensuring our ability to defend their compliance and mitigating unacceptable regulatory-driven risks.

Regulatory Innovation deliverables and continuous improvements:

Own the description of Regulatory deliverables to Innovation Processes and ensure those are regularly reviewed to consider improvements and additions leveraging learnings from previous projects and getting inspired from other Mars divisions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Partner closely with R&D, Demand, and Commercial Prospection teams to embed regulatory insights into innovations design, project & budget planning, risk assessment, and go-to-market strategies.

Regulatory Intelligence:

Own the Global Regulatory Intelligence Process and ensures It Is leveraged in Innovation Programs and projects.

Regulatory Foresight:

Leverage the output of the Horizon Scanning process to communicate evolving regulatory landscapes, providing actionable guidance to Innovation project teams.

Risk & Opportunity Management:

Identify, assess, and articulate regulatory-driven risks and opportunities throughout the innovation lifecycle. Develop and recommend robust strategies to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities. Act as Senior User and Ambassador of the Regulatory Risk Management Program (RRMP), ensuring its effective leverage in Innovation Processes.

Regulatory Compliance:

Facilitate the execution of compliance processes when creating and transferring to production & to promotion Innovation solutions. Serve as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for guiding users and removing roadblocks within these compliance processes. Monitor the performance of compliance processes and identify opportunities for improvement.

Advocacy:

Identify Advocacy opportunities to create a more favorable science-based regulatory environment for the deployment of Innovative solutions and hand them over to the owner of the Advocacy Process. ·

Excellence in Execution:

Own and continuously Improve Ways of Working Internal to the Regulatory function on Innovation Compliance (Knowledge Management, Governance, RACI, Process, Communication Flows). Chair the Community of Practice in Royal Canin on Innovation Compliance. Be responsible for best practice sharing between Royal Canin and other Mars divisions on Innovation Compliance.
